Role Value Proposition: 

Outstanding growth opportunity exists for a candidate with a finance or investment background to join the growing Derivatives Middle Office. This position, Derivative Settlements Senior Analyst reports to an Associate leading the Settlements Function.  The Settlements function sits within the larger Product Control Group and is responsible for the derivative trade confirmations, daily position and market value reconciliations, legal hedge effectiveness and cash and collateral settlements.  The individual will work within a team environment to both contribute to and lead certain team initiatives.  The position deals directly with trading, valuations, risk management, IT, operations and finance. Responsibilities, given below, are well integrated within a strong group environment.

    

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Accurately process derivative collateral and derivatives cash settlements with the ability to research items internally and with custody banks and counterparties. 
  • Interact with custodians, counterparties, Middle and Back office to obtain all information necessary to perform settlements operations functions, such as trade confirmations & accounting, posting and researching open items.
  • Work with the centralized reconciliation teams to resolve reconciliation breaks occurring in portfolios managed within the region.
  • Maintain the integrity of investment information in the system and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform Reconciliations and research outages discovered during the process.
  • Create and distribute internal and external investment reporting.
  • Support regional implementation efforts of processing, data-management platforms and associated governance programs.
  • Work with team members across the organization to understand, identify and address issues or opportunities that lead to effective support processes and improvements in quality of services.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • B.S. Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or other related field of expertise
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and collaborative skills
  • Intermediate Excel Skills (Pivots, macros, v look up, graphs)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

 

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of investments experience within a financial services firm
  • 1+ years of investment operations experience supporting fixed income or derivatives
  • 1+ years of collateral management experience
  • Knowledge of CALYPSO, Murex, Aladdin/Decco, Tri-Resolve, Treasury Workstation and Bloomberg
