MetLife’s Global Risk Management organization is aligned with and embedded within businesses to appropriately manage risks arising from products, services and business operations. The MetLife Investment Management (MIM) Risk Management team is responsible for supporting and overseeing MetLife’s global asset management business, MIM. This team ensures that effective risk management is embedded in day-to-day operations and reflected in business strategies and related activities and represents MIM in enterprise risk discussions.

 

The MIM Risk Management Analytics and Reporting Senior Analyst will support the MIM Risk team in developing and implementing a comprehensive, accurate and scalable suite of risk reports covering portfolio and business risks across MIM.  Working closely with asset sector and investment product specialists, the Analyst will play a critical role in developing tools, technologies and innovative reports to ensure that the MIM Risk team, MIM portfolio managers and MIM senior management is well informed of the risks taken on behalf of clients.   

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • Support the MIM Risk team’s mission of identifying, measuring and monitoring quantitative risk measurements with a focus on aggregated portfolio level risks, portfolio construction, performance drivers and forward looking risk measures such as VaR and scenario analysis.
  • Create, develop and enhance risk reporting capabilities on portfolios, strategies and products.
  • Produce regular risk and attribution reporting for internal and external stakeholders, including the Risk team, portfolio management, MIM senior management and Boards of MIM’s regulated legal entity asset managers.
  • Communicate investment risk insights through innovative report content and formats.
  • Perform regular monitoring of performance, tracking error and risk analytics to ensure data quality.
  • Elevate the overall analytical capabilities of the MIM Risk team.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • BA/BS in Data Analytics, Math / Statistics or related fields.
  • 2+ years relevant experience in quantitative investment risk management or data analysis.
  • Ability to design and optimize the workflow/architecture of Data warehouse for the risk team and generate automated reports for multiple stakeholders.
  • Expertise in Excel, VBA, SQL, API’s and/or Python required, Bloomberg and BlackRock Solutions Aladdin a plus.
  • Strong interest in capital markets and the asset management business.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for continuously improving existing capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and execute on multiple projects in a high performance, collaborative environment.
