MetLife is looking to hire an Associate Director who will be responsible for assisting in residential mortgage loan modelling, analytics, reporting, operations, and management.  This group manages a portfolio of over $15B in residential whole loan mortgage credit across three different client portfolios.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Become an expert on internal credit and cash flow models. 
  • Create and program new models as needed for different mortgage sectors like Non-QM, Prime & Near Prime Jumbo, Agency Eligible Investor, Reperforming Loans, Non-Performing Loans.
  • Run monthly processes to capture mortgage performance and payment data within internal and external database systems.
  • Identify and fix data discrepancies between multiple sources.
  • Identify and address any issues related to process and data flows.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting the performance of the residential whole loan portfolio.
  • Query internal database and utilize 3rd party analytical tools to evaluate portfolio performance.
  • Monitor performance of models compared to actual results and make necessary changes to the model.
  • Analyze external data for new loan products.
  • Provide analytical support to residential mortgage loan trading and management team.
  • Identify and suggest new ways to analyze investment opportunities.
  • Provide data and support to new securitization deals backed by our mortgage collateral.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and data requests from internal and external audit, risk, compliance, and portfolio management teams.
  • Oversee 3rd party servicers and drive changes to loss mitigation and modification waterfalls.
  • Reduce losses through FC and REO oversight.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage information flows effectively and deal with massive amounts of data.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and solve problems.
  • Must be able to simultaneously handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and applications in a timely manner.
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Experience with any programming language, such as C++, C#, VBA, Python.
  • Experience with databases, such as SQL Server or Oracle.
  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or any other related field of expertise.


  • MBA or CFA.
  • Experience in the Mortgage or RMBS market.
  • Experience with statistical tools.
