Overview:

MetLife Investments Technology is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with primary focus on Data engineering technologies.  The candidate will collaborate closely with our Investments Finance business partners, IT Product, and IT Support teams.  The candidate will be exposed to a diverse set of Investment Products and Technologies implemented in the Azure Cloud.  The position is a great opportunity to acquire or enhance their knowledge of Investments, Agile-DevOps practices, and a broad array of technologies.  The candidate is required to have strong communication skills, experience working directly with business partners, Investment’s experience across multiple asset classes and Agile-DevOps experience.

 

Required Business and Technical Experience:

  • 7+ years in Full-Stack Software Engineering with primary focus on Data Engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Expertise in data engineering disciplines and technologies
    • Experience in designing and developing Data Warehouses, Complex Data Transformations and OLAP Reporting
    • Preferred Technology Databricks, Azure ADF, SQL, SSIS, SSAS, Kyligence.
  • Complete ownership of assigned features including requirements review and clarifications, design, development, unit testing and level 3 support
  • 5+ years of Investments experience across multiple Investment Products.  Our Product manages forecasting of various assets classes (ex. Various Bond Types, Various Loan Types, Real Estate, Corporate Joint Ventures, Securities Lending, Policy Loans, Derivatives) so the Ideal candidate will have experience working with multiple asset classes.
  • Experience with DevOps practices for CI/CD/CT and release management using Azure DevOps.
  • Investigating and resolving application management incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Well versed working in an Agile environment and assist managing Agile Ceremonies (Grooming, Planning, Scrums) 
  • Experience with Investment Forecasting and Investments Accounting is a major plus
  • Technology Experience with Operational systems, Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing and Big Data technologies is a major plus.  Our Product requires various technical solutions (ex. User Interfaces, API/REST Services, Big data processing, ETL transformations, OLAP reporting).  The Ideal candidate will have experience facilitating the development of multiple technologies.

The wage range for applicants for this position is $95,000 - $126,600. The role is eligible for incentive compensation under the sales incentive plan for your position. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
