Role Value Proposition: 

The Client Services Supervisor - Administration of Small Markets provides direct supervision over an organizational component performing moderately complex analytical, technical, and/or procedural assignments. This role is responsible for managing and developing up a group of Client Services Consultants (6-7 direct reports) and ensuring the high volume environment is running efficiently and with a great deal of accuracy.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises associates responsible for performing moderately complex analytical, technical, and/or procedural functions
  • Supervisory activities include assigning and scheduling work, coordinating and training new associates, checking and correcting completed work, conducting unit meetings, issuing instructions, completing and analyzing production records and assisting members of the unit in the performance of their duties
  • Assists manager by performing certain staff functions such as reviewing or modifying work procedures, developing recommendations to improve work processes, or coordinating budgets
  • Determines proper course of action for unique or sensitive cases which were referred by subordinates or manager for special consideration
  • Participates in special projects
  • Makes recommendations to manager regarding subordinates' performance appraisals, readiness for promotion, salary increases, etc

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 5+ years of relevant business experience
  • Experience working in a leadership capacity with a minimum of 4 direct reports, helping guide, mentor and grow employees
  • Experience working within the insurance industry with a firm understanding of operations, products and services
  • Self-motivated to learn more about the business and is proactive in personal development
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • High School diploma or equivalent
     

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Advanced understanding of Small Market systems, processes, and plan designs
  • Ability to work autonomously; effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines appropriately and remain flexible
  • Ability to balance client expectations with MetLife capabilities
  • Project management skills including problem solving, attention to detail, analytical thinking and decisiveness
