Role Value Proposition: 

The Investments IT Global Core Data Services group is responsible to provide technology solutions and support for MetLife Investments end to end data requirements covering reference and market data, data warehouse, reporting and business intelligence solutions.  Core data services group is seeking individuals with SSIS, SSRS and .NET software development experience who will assist with designing and building solutions for Investments IT global data warehouse and reporting platform. Individual in this role will develop deeper technical insight into related design principles. This role provides individuals an opportunity to get familiar with comprehensive business view of MetLife Investments asset under management (AUM) and data across multiple asset classes.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review business requirements and prepare functional requirements
  • Design new and improve existing software solution
  • Develop new and enhance existing software code
  • Participate in the SDLC process
  • Implement software changes to production
  • Create integration/system test cases and execute robust system testing
  • Collaborate with other developers with in the team
  • Prepare documentation of all procedures used
  • Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to Visual Studio, ASP.NET, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and C#/VB.NET
  • Adhere to project deadlines and commitments
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested per the job rotation curriculum

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required

  • Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Arts degree (Computer Science or MIS preferred)
  • 5+ years with Microsoft SQL Server with some experience in SSIS, SSRS or equivalent
  • 5+ years of development experience with C#.NET
  • Experience in identification of business requirements, then translating those requirements to various technical requirements
  • Candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in interpreting and writing requirements, and status updates
  • Must be a team player who adapts quickly and easily into new technology and environments
  • Able to work and interact with others in a structured / team environment
  • Must have organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Independent problem solver with troubleshooting, decision making and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing work demands
  • Develops quality deliverables and provides guidance to others on deliverables
  • Strives to remain technically proficient in technology innovations

Preferred

  • Strong Experience in SSIS. Design, build and deploy SSIS packages
  • Advanced level of application development
  • Extensive experience in REST APIs
  • Excellent command of SQL 2012/2016 with strong experience creating reports using SSRS and implementing stored procedures
