Role Value Proposition: 

The Derivatives Application Management Team within Investments IT is seeking a dynamic and experienced technical associate to provide operational support for the Derivatives application suite as well as closely partner with Application Development counterparts on strategic and regulatory initiatives that drive superior business value, enhanced customer experience and compliance. The role will provide the associate with an opportunity to interface with front, middle and back office teams across the globe and build both technical and functional knowledge across the multiple lines of business such as Derivatives and Securities Lending.  The role, although very demanding, allows a motivated associate to learn from some of the best technical and functional experts in the Derivatives space, thrive under a culture of continuous process improvements and above all, be part of a fun, friendly and vibrant group.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the resolution of critical Derivatives issues to ensure that operational SLAs are met.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify the root cause of incidents.
  • Implement technology enhancements and bug fixes to Derivatives applications.
  • Lead optimization initiatives undertaken by the team to streamline operations and enhance customer experience.
  • Collaborate on and participate in strategic and regulatory initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with the user groups being supported to exceed their service level expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, offshore service providers and vendors to drive synergies and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural guidelines and IT risk policies.
  • Participate in rotational support to gain the breadth of knowledge across all Derivatives application areas.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of all production issues.
  • Report status and escalate issues and concerns to senior management as needed.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (preferred) or a related engineering field
  • Solid technical background with 5+ years of demonstrated track record in end-to-end software development life cycle and successful delivery of technical solutions using Java/J2EE, Linux, Sybase/SQL Server/Oracle
  • Experience with Murex trading/ risk management platform
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, SSIS and SSRS
  • Good understanding of the financial markets including Derivative products and their trade lifecycle and settlement process
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task
  • High degree of learning capacity and analytical & problem solving skills; accountability and ownership to drive solutions across cross-functional teams
  • The ability to get things done and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-pressure environment despite constantly changing priorities
  • Basic application infrastructure and networking concepts

 

Preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of investments management
  • .Net
  • Experience working with a scheduling software such as Tivoli Work Station (TWS) or Autosys
