Overview of the role  


The Director Planning, Asia, will help manage key initiatives, programs, and platforms which are driven by the Office of the President, Asia.  This would include, but not be limited to, managing the governance around business performance and reviews, supporting internal and external engagements, as well as coordinating and supporting the strategic planning process together with other functions. 


This is a multi-faceted role, requiring strong knowledge of MetLife’s business, and a dedicated professional who can help coordinate and manage with effectiveness and efficiency across multiple functions, lines of business, and geographies. 


Main responsibilities :


  • Help manage the overall business governance and review process and schedule with Finance and other internal groups.
  • Coordinate and support regular business reviews, annual planning, and quarterly dedicated business reviews.
  • Track, follow up, consolidate and report associated metrics and scorecards; monitor progress towards meeting goals and achieving benchmarks.
  • Coordinate and support the Asia President in investor community engagements, including earnings analyst calls, investor days and outlooks, and ratings agency reviews. 
  • Coordinate and support the Asia President in activities involving internal including officer and employee town halls, as well as external engagements including meetings with partners, government, and media.
  • Help manage ad-hoc initiatives, requiring collaboration and partnership across functions.
  • Maintain a high degree of awareness/knowledge of current economic, financial and insurance related activities.

  • Ability to effectively work across the global organizational structure: working closely with senior leaders and country management alike to leverage and drive activities at the global, regional and country level.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – the ability to convey a broad array of information, issues and recommendations succinctly and accurately across multiple cultures and geographies.

  • Well organized and able to engage in a team environment involving multiple departments, sites and organization levels.
