The Category Management Analyst resides within the IT Category Management vertical within the Global Procurement organization and is responsible for partnering with team members in support of category strategy development and execution for a grouping of indirect procurement categories.  The Category Management Analyst will gather, analyze, and research internal business inputs and external market intelligence to inform the direction from a category perspective.  The Category Management Analyst will also have responsibility for partnering with team member and stakeholders to execute high value category transformation initiatives in accordance with the Category Strategy.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Apply the strategy set by Category Management Leadership for assigned Categories to daily activities
  • Analyze Source to Pay analytics, through PowerBI reporting, for the assigned grouping of indirect categories, to identify opportunities to positively impact the category
  • Research market intelligence to identify category intelligence, benchmarks, supplier landscape and best in class practices for inclusion in category strategies
  • Synthesize internal and external inputs into easily understood visuals, i.e., charts, graphs, presentations, etc.
  • Support the build-out of Financial models including pricing, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Should Cost, etc.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • 0-2 years working experience in procurement, supply chain & operations or Management consulting
  • Familiarity with procurement, the Source to Pay process, and the role it plays within the Enterprise
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical skills – able to construct/execute financial analyses
  • Knowledge of data management, analysis and identifying insights within data
  • Quick study – able to gain a fact-based understanding of current supplier base, supplier economics and major trends in relevant markets



  • BA/BS or equivalent degree, preferred concentration in Supply Chain operations
  • Microsoft PowerBI
  • Intellectual curiosity, naturally seeks out the “why” behind insights
