Role Value Proposition:

This position is responsible for conducting or performing an oversight function for all experience studies used to support the Group Benefits products.  The position ultimately supports the Americas Chief Actuary’s approval of assumptions for various regulatory requirements and reports directly to the Group Benefits Lead Actuary.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversight of all Group Benefits experience studies, including Life, Dental, LTC, Disability, etc.
  • Responsible for performing experience studies for certain benefits associated with Group life and health contracts.
  • Coordinate and lead assumption committee meetings, including preparing and distributing minutes of those meetings.
  • Coordinate audits of experience studies.
  • Set and promulgate best practices across various experience studies.
  • Participate in SOA experience study committee quarterly calls/discussions.
  • Maintain Group Experience Study Repository on SharePoint.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial Science preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Actuarial experience required.
  • ASA or FSA.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Access, is required.
  • SQL Programming a plus.
  • Group product experience a plus.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
