Role Value Proposition:

The US Group Benefits Marketing Data Analyst plays a critical role in helping the business continue to evolve and execute against its strategic vision based on a comprehensive understanding of employee, employer, broker and marketplace dynamics.  This role will be responsible for co-developing and executing analytics plans with the Director, Marketing Analytics that deliver against critical business objectives, by identifying business goals and developing strategies for translating business goals into measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This role will also be responsible for developing actionable insights that are relevant to marketing and influencing the strategy of the US MetLife Group Benefits Organization. The role will investigate customer behavior, attribute revenue, assess business impact and socialize the findings for the betterment of the organization. This role will be a key member of the Insights, Analytics and Product Marketing team, and the Group Benefits Marketing Organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support US Group Benefits Marketing in establishing a best-in-class marketing analytics function by supporting data management, measurement planning, analysis, reporting and insights across B2B and B2C marketing initiatives including acquisition, cross-sell, and retention.
  • Partners with Director and internal stakeholders to understand marketing objectives and available data to identify appropriate KPIs and develop measurement plans and in-market test designs that assess marketing effectiveness and answer key business questions
  • Gather relevant datasets and reports, join and transform them as necessary to prepare files for analysis and reporting
  • Provide easy-to-understand marketing insights and consultation that translate into practical, actionable recommendations for B2B and B2C marketing campaigns across multiple channels:
    • Sales force
    • Digital – search, display & social
    • Direct Mail and Email – acquisition & CRM
    • Inbound & outbound phone and website
  • Visualize data, write presentations/reports and disseminate/socialize key findings across key business partners/ stakeholders, influencing to ensure findings/recommendations are actioned to impact business outcomes.
  • Create and grow trusted cross-functional relationships with marketing partners, business partners, IT partners, research and analytics vendors and media/consulting agencies.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative and/or business field
  • 7+ years of business analytics experience preferably measuring and optimizing the performance of marketing campaigns or related experience
  • Familiar with digital marketing and CRM platforms and data
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Alteryx, SQL, etc.), visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) or coding in advanced data analytics tools (e.g. SAS, R, Python, etc.)
  • Comfortable manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, highly dimensional data from varying sources
  • Experience designing and executing in-market tests and with statistical hypothesis testing techniques
  • Able to synthesize and communicate complex qualitative and quantitative data using data visualization
  • Demonstrated ability asking scoping questions to identify business partner needs and actively listening to understand the problems from the client's perspective; not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Excellent analytic skills and ability to translate data and learnings into actionable recommendations for business growth
  • Ability to operate comfortably and effectively in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional, constantly evolving environment
  • Driven to learn, grow and stretch as a member of an evolving Analytics team and Marketing organization
  • Resourceful, strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, excellent written and verbal communications skills - must be able to communicate effectively with functionally and geographically diverse teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Insurance, Financial Services a plus
  • Experience in applying analytics and attribution in B2B industries a plus
  • Experience with predictive modeling and forecasting a plus
