Key Responsibilities:   

Perform actuarial and financial studies to analyze and report results based on projection models for Latin America (LatAm) products. Analyze value of new business (VNB), embedded value (EV), U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) valuation and local statutory valuation, recommending potential actions to optimize results and providing advice and support to the countries where needed. Review and advise best estimate assumptions used for valuation and product pricing. Review business metrics for all countries in LatAm and present results to senior management, including explanations of actual versus projected deviations. Coordinate with Corporate functions regulatory disclosures as well as internal and external surveys. Advise on and review implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 17 and Solvency II as per local regulation requirements, and U.S. GAAP Long Duration Targeted Improvements. Establish standards and controls for documentation and model review. Review operational processes impacting financial results and advise on opportunities for improvement. Evaluate reinsurance business cases from countries in the region. Support the region on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) projects.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in actuarial science (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience building and analyzing U.S. GAAP valuation and pricing models utilizing actuarial software, Excel, Access and VBA programming. Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): analyzing and reporting profitability metrics for product portfolios; performing financial analysis and business metrics production for insurance markets; and providing technical insurance training and executive presentations to associates in Latin American countries. Must possess: Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) certification, and on track for Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) certification. Eligible for employee referral program.
