Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provide project management services in support of MetLife Design & Construction Real Estate Strategy for company occupied and owned locations at both domestic and global locations.
  • Overseeing management of external consultant teams and internal stakeholders in the development and implementation of ‘best-in-class’ workplace environments, including but not limited to management of budget, project schedule and lead of design excellence.
  • Develop, coordinate and manage the implementation of major domestic and global capital projects including: determining programming requirements, directing design initiatives that align with Design & Construction vision, managing communication with Line of Business, overseeing test fits development on CADD, producing schedules and budgets, and coordinating projects with internal customers, partners and external vendors.
  • Oversee design development with the aim to drive innovation and excellence within the project parameters. Prepare presentations for internal team review and when approved to be socialized with business partners. Review design development drawings, construction drawings and shop drawings to ensure alignment with design goals, cost appropriateness and viability for execution. Coordinate and manage construction cost estimates and bids solicited from team members for selected outside contractors and vendors in accordance with bidding policies and procedures.
  • Make the appropriate recommendations for awarding contracts to customers and management, ensuring audit and procurement procedures are properly followed. Ensure necessary signature authorizations are obtained for all project proposals prior to commencing work. Review and revise construction engineering documents to value engineer the project to the benefit of the customer and the company. Receive and approve invoices related to all facets of the project. Prepare reconciliation reports of budgeted vs. actual. Prepare explanation of budget variances and receive approval for any such instances. Ensure invoice payment audit procedures are followed.
  • Communicate with management, customer representatives, outside consultants, contractors and internal support to keep projects on track and to manage customer expectations. Prepare and distribute monthly reports to management to monitor and metric work flow. Inform management of important cases which may adversely affect customer relations and recommends a course of action. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with limited supervision and show strong independent leadership skills.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • 10+ years of work experience within architecture, design or project management
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft word)
  • Strong understanding of architectural/design with a proven record of full project management and implementation
  • Experience providing direction and leadership across multiple segments of a business
  • A deep understanding of workplace strategy implementation
  • Working knowledge of the best and latest practices within the architectural/design realm
  • Strong creative mind and point of view; an out of the box thinker
  • Proven executive presence and excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Impeccable integrity; embodies and practices world-class ethical standards in every respect
