Role Value Proposition: 

A specialist corporate tax accounting role required to assist in the preparation of various tax reporting and tax compliance obligations for the EMEA region. The role will cover a wide number of European locations.


In addition to preparing monthly and quarterly tax provisions for US GAAP reporting, Plan/Projections, quarterly Solvency II reporting, and Irish Tax Compliance work, this role will support EMEA Senior Tax Managers on ad hoc tax projects such DAC6, tax support for M&A, and support local finance teams in managing local tax audits.


This is an ideal role for someone looking for the next step in their career having obtained a grounding in tax accounting in practice or industry.  The EMEA tax team consists of 7 professionals ranging from Junior tax accountant to the EMEA Tax Director.  We operate in a flexible working environment and have a proven history of developing and promoting from within.

Other Key Stakeholders:  US and EMEA Tax Team, EMEA Finance teams


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Preparation of all aspects of the monthly / quarterly tax reporting for U.S. GAAP and Solvency II purposes, including tax provisioning, return to provision calculations, SOX documentation and Tax Provisioning Tools);
  • Preparation of tax provision and related notes and audit support for annual IFRS filings for certain key Irish entities;
  • Preparation of the Irish and UK corporation tax compliance;
  • Supporting the dedicated transfer pricing team, as required, in updating relevant documentation to support charges between the U.S. and EMEA entities;
  • Liaising with local finance and external advisors to support their preparation of corporation tax returns for European branch entities;
  • Other compliance work as required, to include review of aspects of direct Irish and foreign taxes, provided by local teams/advisors;
  • Liaising with in-country finance teams/advisors on any tax authority audit issues, supported by the Tax Senior Manager/ Regional Controller;
  • Assisting on tax projects, when required;
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Irish and foreign tax legislation to accomplish principal responsibilities. 


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Newly qualified or substantially complete in working towards obtaining a professional tax qualification (AITI) or a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA),
  • Three years corporation tax or tax accounting experience,
  • Strong knowledge of computers, systems and associated software packages required to complete the role, e.g. excel and other web-based tax provisioning and financial reporting tools,
  • Ability to work independently with minimal managerial supervision, however with relevant guidance and training from management, 
  • Strong communication skills are important as the successful candidate will be liaising with the Dublin Finance team, and finance teams in countries across EMEA


  • Exposure to USGAAP tax accounting principles would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Exposure to transfer pricing advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Insurance, banking or other financial services industry experience
