The focus of this role is to maximize the distribution of the legal plan product through MetLife Sales Distribution. This position provides sales support and product expertise to sales field force as well as intermediaries within their assigned areas to drive sales. The focus of this role is to support sales of the legal plan by assisting Regional and National Account Sales Managers as well as the marketing team. The Sales Support role provides a broad spectrum of support services to enable sales and support the field. In addition, the role may work with Administration, Finance, Marketing, and service groups to develop and drive strategies to increase quote volume, closing ratios and persistency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with the development and completion of proposals (RFPs), questionnaires, marketplace comparisons and custom plan designs
  • Field phone and website queries, assist with responses to daily requests for information from sales field
  • Focus on competitive analysis, plan design development and supporting customer acquisition efforts including  RFP responses, proactive quoting and pricing opportunities
  • Creation of reports on industry performance, opportunity analysis including white spacing mapping
  • Participation in Legal Plan initiatives, projects and programs as directed by management
  • Timely completion of reports including activities, progress and strategies

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing and/or sales within the group benefits marketplace
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint; and knowledge of Adobe InDesign
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload
  • Analytical skills to identify issues and develop pertinent, responsive strategic solutions
  • Ability to effectively translate strategic plans and communicate to sales and other partner organizations through marketing and training programs
  • Proficiency with internal customer relationship management databases
