Role Value Proposition: 

The Lead, Transformation and Business Planning PPME (Project & Program Management Execution) role is a hybrid, change agent role. This person is a leader and doer of key activities aimed at transforming how we deliver portfolio value globally. This role will also shape the overarching PPME strategy, put it into practice and evolve it over time. The person in this person is a walking, talking model of the entrepreneurial skills that define program/project managers of the future. The person in this role will shape the overarching strategy that keeps the PPME organization constantly moving toward the vision for tomorrow while maintaining alignment with Global Technology Services (GTS), partner and MetLife objectives. As an influencer, this person will motivate all levels of stakeholders through consistent communication and tactical support across the organization.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • Influence all levels of agile adoption by achieving mastery in key roles (SAFe certifications) and put into practice via strategic/top initiatives (partner and internal)
  • Execute and oversee special projects and lead special cross functional teams
  • Establish and facilitate the PPME leadership team operation model
  • Serve as a benefits realization management (BRM) thought leader, cultivating the value mindset to enable the creation of “benefits-led” Ideas and PARs that are built around clear benefits statements and measurement plans, increasing the value impact to MetLife
  • Drive operational excellence and consistency through identification and enablement of opportunity areas that create efficiency, remove obstacles, or create improved processes and approaches to the business
  • Collaborate with VP Global Program and Project Execution and other GT leaders to develop the overarching strategy and value-based storyline for key GTS functions
  • Motivate and assist GTS leadership unit in development of annual goals and performance targets, and communication/cascade to their direct reports
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, global leadership, business and IT team members, and vendor support team to promote the value of the PPME function and GTS overall
  • Engage directly on highest priority projects and programs to bring entrepreneurial thinking that challenges status quo and positions the larger team for delivery of successful outcomes
  • Handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term strategy with the urgency of immediate demands. Demonstrate the ability to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between senior executives, the GTS organization and other impacted/interested organizations (internal and external)

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

 

Required:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience managing change management activities  
  • Minimum 5+ years in Agile environment
  • Experience managing multiple projects/programs simultaneously and providing effective support to all functions and individuals within the corporate structure
  • Experience creating communications, both written and digital 
  • Experience developing and presenting presentations and communications for internal and external audiences
  • Must be self-motivated, ambitious and dedicated individual with the ability to proactively drive business plans and projects
  • Must be analytical yet pragmatic with strong quantitative capabilities, business judgment and possess good organizational and communication skills
  • Proven vision, leadership, and strategic thinking skills through each stage of program execution. Ability to lead evolving initiatives from start to finish in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to foster organizational change through program execution and act as a change agent

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Program management experience in enterprise IT environment
  • Change management or coaching certifications
