Role Value Proposition: 

The role is for a Sr. Business Systems Analyst within Corporate Systems Tax/Finance. The Tax Department has undertaken a major cost savings initiative which includes better integration between Financial and Tax processes and systems as well as on-boarding new technology. The current Corporate Systems Tax team is small, and members of the team are more focused on technical details.  This role is needed to help bridge functional understanding with technical capabilities, and to assist in basic project management responsibilities when needed.



Key Responsibilities:  

  • Elicitation and documentation of Business Requirements and creation of functional specifications that tie to requirements.

  • Provide innovative ideas to stream line processes and achieve business objectives

  • Documentation of process and data flows

  • Partnering with Business and IT/AD Teams to create and verify technical specifications to meet business requirements; engage in and lead Proofs of Concept if needed

  • Partner with Business and QA Teams to document and create Test scenarios and scripts

  • Partner with Project Leads in planning and estimating efforts for project implementation and in the creation and tracking of milestone-level project plans

  • Facilitate obtaining deployment or emergency tickets for moving enhancements into production


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Experience (5+ years of experience) in Business systems analysis with focus on Financial and/or Tax systems


  • Excellent track record for analysis and resolution of problems under pressure/time constraints


  • Eagerness to learn products and business concepts to bridge business and technology


  • Undergraduate degree required in Computer Science or Information Management; minor in Finance/Tax is a plus, but not required


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate technical concepts in an easy-to-understand way


  • Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals; self-motivated


  • Experience working with MicroSoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Project)


  • Experience working with Visio or equivalent tools



  • Previous experience in a liaison role between functional and technology areas

  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to work in a dynamic environment that requires the ability to work on several work streams in parallel

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, Yammer, Box, and  ServiceNow

  • Proficiency in using MicroSoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Project)



  • Prior experience with financial and/or tax concepts or systems/applications

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assist in root cause determination and issues remediation

  • Ability to effectively interface and communicate with multiple levels within the organization/enterprise
