Role Value Proposition: 

The Business Planning and Strategy Analyst is an internal role supporting the Strategy and Planning organization in Global Technology and Operations.  This role will lead strategic employee engagement efforts, including internal stakeholder management, program communications, and other special initiatives across the GTO organization.  


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develops strategic business plans and initiatives for GTO employee engagement and other enterprise programs such as sustainability and rewards and recognition
  • Creates executive-level presentations, materials, and messages for Strategy and Planning team, including executive and leadership forums
  • Creates and manages GTO intranet site content
  • Uses strong business judgment to work autonomously on stakeholder requests across GTO teams


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills 


  • The role provides an opportunity to interact and communicate with GTO leaders and employees from over 40 countries and other key stakeholders across MetLife.  As such, the ability to adapt communication style and navigate a large, matrixed organization is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will have a versatile skill set in areas such as project management, stakeholder management, and communications.  
  • The candidate will also have a desire and ability to work with various operations and technology employees in other parts of the globe.  
  • The ideal candidate will have a successful track record academically and in business and will preferably have experience in employee engagement or another strategic corporate role.  
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations and communications using MS PowerPoint and Word as appropriate for key stakeholders 
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience 


  • 3+ years of experience interfacing with global and virtual teams 
  • 3+ years of experience successfully navigating a matrix organization, mapping stakeholder needs and developing stakeholder-level materials 
  • 3+ years professional communication in English (i.e. presentations, writing and editing business documents) 
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and products and/or operations/IT
