Key Responsibilities:  


Supervise and lead a team of Inside Sales Consultants who engage in direct selling, cross selling, and up selling MetLife products that meet the needs of our customers.  Through strong leadership and coaching, the Global Customer Solutions (GCS) Sales Supervisor ensures that their Sales team offers a customer experience on every call which is consistent with the MetLife GCS values and principles, while promoting and selling products.


  • Communicate the business plan, goals and objectives to Sales Consultants while ensuring their understanding of the overall plan as well as their individual performance and sales expectations. Coach, motivate and develop Sales Consultants to meet and exceed customer expectations and sales goals and hold them accountable for the results.
  • Create a work environment that fosters high morale & employee engagement and cultivates & drives the Sales Consultants to achieve & surpass sales, profitability, and business objectives while creating and maintaining a team of Sales Consultants who conduct business professionally and meet all compliance requirements. Ability to operate and establish a strong team dynamic which transcends geographic boundaries and brings virtual workers and brick & mortar workers together as one team.
  • Monitor Sales Consultant calls and provide feedback on quality of information, procedures and sales techniques. Monitor the quality of new business policies, accounts and endorsements. Manage team’s results in a manner that fosters profitability and growth for both the short and long term success of Sales.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements and/or modifications to achieve objectives as well as training needs and evaluates and provides training to staff. Ability to interpret/decipher reports and provide coaching where opportunities exist.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Full people management responsibility, including hiring, terminations, promotions, performance management, quality and monitoring, coaching and training and associate development


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with 5+ years of related customer service or sales experience with 2+ years of people management experience. Knowledge of the organization’s operations, quality management tenets, products and services as well as those of related organizations and business partners as well as a general understanding of the Company’s Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Achieve and exceed sales metrics and revenue targets while exercising good judgment and having a strong focus on the customer. Align with company policies, procedures and compliance. Must have the ability to be licensed in all state MetLife conducts business
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and coaching skills and abilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach & motivate staff virtually to increase associate performance levels as well as develop talent for the future
  • Work successfully in a fast paced, highly demanding work environment while commitment to continuous, ongoing improvement in the level of service/sales provided to internal and external customers
  • Ability to work independently and manage change and to support company-wide initiatives and work effectively as a member of a supervisory team


 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience
  • Property & Casualty insurance experience a plus
  • Property & Casualty License preferred, but not required
  • 5+ years of sales experience
