At MetLife, we seek to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our customers and our communities.  The Global Technology & Operations group (GTO) is a diverse team of engineers, developers, business systems analysts, and project managers with the freedom to create innovative solutions to address core business challenges within MetLife.  This role will be part of a dynamic growing team of talented IT Professionals and thought leaders responsible for supporting the development of the Metlife Global Strategic Liquidity Stress Modeling (LSM) and the MetLife Account Validation Service (MAVS) solutions.  The Lead Business Systems Analyst will be an integral part of a small team within Corporate Treasury IT – we are a fast-paced, global, multi-cultural environment where critical skills include time/task management, professionalism, self-study using research and discovery, as well as, the ability to handle multiple tasks for varying technologies.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Gathers, analyzes, documents, and maintains business and/or functional requirements using core business analyst elicitation techniques along with applicable artifacts, depending upon the methodology followed for various Corporate Treasury initiatives
  • Coordinates with partner groups for in scope enhancements/requirements to ensure traceability of deliverables to approved requirements
  • Coordinates testing with developers for in scope requirements to ensure quality deliverables as outlined      
  • Coordinates testing with the QA Team, while assisting with creation of required testing artifacts where applicable
  • Utilizes technical writing experience in support of various documentation tasks, e.g., process flows/swim lanes, product manuals and/or system documentation, conceptual diagrams, as well as, SIT plans and unit test cases
  • Schedules meetings with detailed purpose and agenda, capturing and thoroughly documenting meeting minutes using standard templates, and providing recaps to attendees within expected SLA
  • Facilitates and/or attends scheduled sessions also to capture action items and monitor/track open issues and/or work stream tasks to resolution
  • Facilitates and/or attends internal meetings also to ensure clear/detailed information is communicated to development teams, as well as, raised for escalation to management in a timely fashion
  • Acts as a primary analyst for in scope Corporate Treasury applications, ensuring development teams are properly focused on objectives and meeting expected level of quality in deliverables as detailed in requirements, work stream objectives, and timelines outlined/approved by AD PM
  • Creates and/or contributes to user guides, reference manuals, training materials and code release artifacts as appropriate
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of SDLC
  • Completes duties as assigned in timely fashion


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or other related field, or equivalent demonstrated work experience and/or certifications.
  • 5+ years business systems analysis experience, or comparable business and technical experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details, as well as, demonstrated professionalism and time/task management skills
  • Significant knowledge and experience of Software Development Life Cycle, or comparable methodologies
  • Adept experience in creating and presenting Business and/or Functional Requirements Specification documents, User Stories, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio (or other design tools))



  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Services tool stack (SSRS, SSAS) or comparable BI reporting/report designer tools
  • Experience translating business requirements into customer-facing solutions with focus on end-user experience/usability
  • Experience with iRise/wireframe/UX and/or working knowledge of web-based application development
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Strong systems analyst skills and technical background to support review of technical proposals for IT projects and systems
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for assignments
  • Willingness to grow knowledge and experience
  • Background and/or experience in insurance and/or financial industries
