Role Value Proposition: 

IT Risk & Security Consultant will provide vulnerability management subject matter expertise and help maintain a secure infrastructure by implementing strong risk mitigation controls. Identify infrastructure security vulnerabilities and help devise effective remediation strategies at MetLife, a globally admired international brand.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support global security teams to align strategic direction, monitor security status and assess overall posture of core network and endpoint controls
  • Support implementing and maintaining continuous process for technical security standards for major MetLife technologies in accordance with industry best practices
  • Partner with global working teams, gather the security requirements and recommend security products, services and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness
  • Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, internal controls which mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement
  • Provide technical expertise and support in security assessments, design, developing, monitoring and supporting enterprise infrastructure environment


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Candidate must have a combined minimum of 7 years hands on experience in the fields of IT and Cyber Security

Strong grasp of operational processes, IT general controls, security controls and vulnerability management

  • Well versed in secure configuration of operating systems, databases and network technology layers
  • Familiar with security and perimeter technologies, including but not limited to Qualys, Splunk and McAfee EPO
  • Candidate must have experience working in complex, diverse and global (international) environments


  • Experienced in supporting enterprise deployment projects, assisting in coordination, scheduling and implementation activities
  • Ability to perform basic scripting to analyze and automate repeatable processes
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNA-Security, Security+, MCSC, GIAC, PMP, LEAN and Six Sigma are desired
