Role Value Proposition: 

The incumbent will provide monitoring and restoration of service in a 24/7 IT Operations Command Center.  Will support centralized and distributed IT environments and applications to ensure the availability, performance and throughput in accordance with OLAs, SLAs and other requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Performs monitoring of enterprise-wide architecture to ensure optimal availability.
  • Tracks and records production issues using appropriate tools.
  • Performs restorations of service of identified incidents.
  • Monitors incident, problem, change and service request queues, ensuring items are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Detects and responds to alerts using standard monitoring tools.
  • Hours are 7am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday with 3rd work day TBD

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:   

  • 2+ years of IT Operations experience
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness to investigate problems through to conclusion
  • Ability to keep accurate records and documentation
  • Skills with 2+ of the following – Windows Server OS, AIX, z/OS, Linux

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • RHEL and/or Solaris experience
  • EMC Avamar backup
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of hardware, software, scripting languages, system utilities and operating systems used in the environment.
