Role Value Proposition: 

The Director, Infrastructure Security will be responsible for the protection and continuous security improvement of MetLife’s global IT infrastructure. MetLife operates a large complex global network spanning over 50 countries supporting various lines of business in offering excellent financial services to our customers. The protection of confidential information at MetLife is paramount and this role is directly involved in the overall protection function of MetLife’s data.


The role is a key stakeholder in strategic planning and execution for infrastructure security improvement allows MetLife to implement innovative and cutting edge security solutions/process to counter the active cyber threats. On the defensive side, vulnerability management in the large scale global network helps MetLife to manage the risk and exposure due to the vulnerabilities on infrastructure components. The role will also be the thought leader in the cyber protection and offer valuable consultation to senior management across multiple functional areas in the context of cyber security.


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Direct and execute on the continuous improvement cycle of the global infrastructure component. Liaise across multiple IT stakeholders and lines of business to drive security improvements across infrastructure components. This includes setting and maintaining technical standards for various technologies and reviewing the cutting edge security technologies for potential adoption at MetLife.
  • Lead the effort in the infrastructure vulnerability management lifecycle which includes scanning/testing, reviewing and prioritizing results, and remediation and/or coordinating the remediation of assessment results working through the globally aligned team
  • Leveraging technology capabilities to provide meaningful metrics across the infrastructure security domain and determine/recommend the best strategy for maintaining good security posture
  • Manage internal consulting activities in the domain of infrastructure security
  • Support the identification, response and remediation of cyber security incidents


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • Eight years in information security or assurance related roles.
  • Five years in a vulnerability management program. Knowing not only how to assess vulnerabilities, but prioritize and drive remediation of the same.
  • Three years in a configuration management program. Understanding of key operating environments and how to translate technical security requirements into practical governance.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, negotiate and manage change globally
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field





  • Ability to communicate at the executive leadership levels. Understanding how to translate technical gaps to business risk is critical for communication in this role.
  • Experience in large global financial firms
