The Role: In this role, the Assistant Vice-President of Endpoint Security Protection will be responsible for ensuring internal and external access systems and applications meet security requirements that help ensure MetLife maintains security to protect its employees and customers.  The candidate is responsible for design, standardization, and implementation of all endpoint security protection solutions within the MetLife environment. The AVP will be responsible for managing endpoint security solutions to the global infrastructure - both workstation/server and overseeing DLP and database security solutions under Data Protection and Logging.


Key Responsibilities:

  • ERD/EPP solutions for both workstation and server infrastructures across all standardized operating systems, Windows host based firewall.
  • Off premise web application filtering for all workstations.
  • Protection of MetLife against malicious/accidental data exposure through DLP solutions.
  • Database security monitoring using Guardium and SonarG.
  • Encryption/Decryption of MetLife workstations.


Key Relationships:

  • Reports to: VP, Global Security Technology

  • Direct reports/team: Approximately 4 direct reports/16 indirect reports
  • Key Stakeholders: Engineering, Operations, and Global Service-related groups within GI, IT Risk and Security


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Business Experience
    • 10+ years' experience leading technical projects and implementations in an IT environment
    • Demonstrated success in executing and mobilizing large organizations around strategic initiatives within a global company
    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, including the ability to build relationships at all levels, work cross-organizationally, and lead through influence
    • A high degree of organizational and structured operating skills; able to prioritize appropriate and keep track of multiple concurrent projects and deliverables
    • Judgment to accurately assess what can be managed directly, what needs to be delegated, and what needs to be escalated; tactical competency to execute accordingly
    • Resourcefulness; ability to creatively and independently get work done through influence and relationships
    • Execution orientation, attention to detail, and bias for action
    • A high degree of business and financial acumen combined with a practical approach and ability to make recommendations based on available information
    • Solutions-orientation; perceives and either resolves or escalates risks or obstacles as appropriate
    • Strong synthesis and learning agility; connects dots and thinks strategically about business planning, governance, and solutions
    • Organizational intelligence; able to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed environment
    • Ability to foster and drive organizational change through process optimization, change leadership, and the development of a strong network of partners
    • Working knowledge of various industry security standards and frameworks ex, NIST, ISO, CIS
    • Excellent presentation, written, oral, and relationship-building skills
    • BA/BS degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred


  • Technical Skills
    • Familiarity with Endpoint standardization and management
    • Ability to manage Endpoint Protection Platform POC
    • Experience with Global Forcepoint Endpoint DLP deployments
    • Understanding of Forcepoint Network DLP and “SecureHub” Azure design
    • Experience with Cisco AMP and Tanium
    • Ability to complete global upgrades and mobile device onboarding and management
