Job Location: Brighton based for two days a week, flexible for the remaining 3 days (Monday to Friday)

You’ll be joining a business that is expanding, cares about the community and the environment. The Scrum Lead acts as an expert in Agile methodologies and a leader in process improvement, coaching, mentoring, conflict management, facilitation, and mediation. As a Scrum Lead you will work closely with the team members, Product Owners, other Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineer, and stakeholders to support Sprint and Release Planning, foster team self-awareness, encourage cross-training, decision-making and continuous improvement. The Scrum Lead will help teams become high-performing teams!
Scrum Lead Key Responsibilities:
- Designs, implements, and monitors the progress of initiatives, milestones, and budgets to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
- Lead a number of onshore and/or off-shore scrum teams.
- Guide Agile teams towards achieving product objectives through adoption of agile technical practices.
- Facilitate Agile events to ensure Iteration goals.
- Coach, inspire, mentor teams and promote positive team dynamics to ensure members collaborate and work effectively within the team and with other teams, to manage risks, and dependencies.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to support short and long-term release planning, while maintaining a healthy team backlog ready for execution.
- Coordinate interdependencies between dependent teams. Proactively identify and work to remove or escalate impediments to team delivery
- Track and report on agile team metrics (CFD, Burndown/up, velocity), escalating issues as needed.
- Leads meetings and provides updates to leadership regarding status of initiatives.
- Drive operational excellence through alignment of key customer goals and business priorities.
- Responsible for initiative execution including but not limited to estimating and managing costs and resources; identifying and managing risks and issues; monitoring progress of all key value streams, deliverables and outcomes; creation and maintenance of detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Scrum Lead Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- Builds trusted relationships and collaborates across global, diverse and multi-functional teams to successfully drive business objectives.
- Strong team player and ability to learn quickly
- Delivery focused, proactive and motivated
- Strong relationship-building skills - internal colleagues, 3rd parties, suppliers / vendor management – on and off-shore
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business other related field, or equivalent demonstrated work
- 3+ years' relevant experience, ideally gained from working in Financial Services, Insurance and/or Banking sectors
- Well versed working in an Agile environment and assist managing Agile Ceremonies
- Organizational intelligence and strong influence management/cross-functional leadership skills; adept at working in a matrixed structure
- Strong presentation and communication skills with experience providing communication to senior leaders
- Strong relationship management and facilitation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details
Preferred:
- Knowledge of SAFe Framework
- Highly motivated and thrive in an environment where problems are open-ended.
- Ability to work with applicable collaboration tools that drive an end-to-end delivery of product through persistent teams.
