Role Value Proposition: 

This position will be a member of the MetLife Holdings Retail Annuities department.  The associate will be part of the team responsible for model development and enhancement for fixed and variable deferred annuities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on Pathwise and Prophet model developments (e.g. NAIC VA Reserve and Capital Framework updates, FASB Targeted Improvements, Cash Flow Testing, etc), along with testing and validation.
  • Support productionalization of new models and updates to existing models.
  • Create, maintain and re-certify all process documentation.
  • Actively partner with business partners.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • ASA or FSA, or equivalent
  • Strong aptitude for modelling and programming, preferably with Pathwise and Python experience
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including the ability to handle data requests from multiple internal and external sources in a timely manner
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and VBA

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with annuity products, systems migrations and model validations
  • Exposure to or knowledge of GAAP and/or Statutory reporting and capital markets
  • Ability to work with a variety of areas across the company
  • 5+ years’ actuarial experience
