Role Value Proposition: 

Provides administrative and customer service to very large Federal Government group insurance clients.  Works with account team to support customer relationships and satisfaction. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The Client Services Consultant manages and/or supports the following major skill areas:

  • Problem Resolution
  • New Business Growth
  • Implementation
  • Customer Service
  • Account Management
  • Project Management
  • Manages all aspects of the above skill areas for multiple National Accounts Customers (i.e. account administration and management, various customer related projects, administrative reports and contracts).
  • Works in conjunction with the Account Executive and Client Services Director in meeting to exceed the customers’ expectations.
  • Over-all accountability for day-to-day customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
  • Assist with new business opportunities and then subsequently coordinates implementation of new customers and addition of MetLife product lines to existing customer.
  • Coordinates customer benefit communications and provides consultative plan design analysis and recommendations.
  • Liaison between customer and MetLife products units including claims, contracts, eligibility, billing, and e-commerce creating appropriate processes to meet customer needs.
  • Attends Client meetings in person or via conference call as needed.
  • Assists in customer account audits, strategic planning and account proposal process.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams designed to support key National Accounts initiatives or to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Maintains an awareness and knowledge of MetLife’s and competitors’ products and industry trends.
  • Handles ad hoc projects as assigned.

 

Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required
  • Ability to have or gain an understanding or knowledge of MetLife’s group products, services and systems.
  • Analytical thinking and decisiveness.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to multi-task.
  • Understanding of account management principles, consultative responsibilities and responsiveness.
  • Ability to work within hard deadlines and target dates.
  • Capacity to work in a high energy environment.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation.
  • Excellent organization skills, interpersonal skills, diplomacy and flexibility.
  • Ability to balance client needs with MetLife capabilities.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Excel, Word and Access software.

 

Preferred:

  • Dual experience in administrative and finance
  • 3 + years experience in a customer service or client facing environment
  • 3 + years of group insurance knowledge or experience
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (“FAR”)
