Role Value Proposition: 

This position is responsible for managing a team of six (6) Structured Settlements New Business Analysts.  It is also responsible for reconciling Structured Settlements accounts, successfully passing audit requests, and ensuring that all service standards are met by the team.  Finally, this position is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the team's business processes and managing any special projects that are required to improve those processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Structured Settlements New Business Analysts to ensure that all relevant service standards and financial accountability goals are met consistently. Fully execute Qualified Assignment.  Approve or deny all certificates/contracts and sign executed Qualified Assignments.  Motivate and empower team to eliminate any barriers to workflow and provide team with all tools needed to complete daily tasks, including appropriate training and mentoring.  Delegate decision making authority to subordinates as appropriate. Ensure that Structured Settlement accounts are fully reconciled by reviewing all Structured Settlement deposits to ensure accurate clearing of the suspense accounts, creating manual journal entries as needed, and making system adjustments as needed to correct issues. Ensure efficient business processes by analyzing business process efficiency, developing and implementing process improvements as needed, and adjusting newly implemented procedures as necessary
  • Manage multiple projects effectively from planning through implementation. Create and communicate project plan, strategy, priorities and business benefits to senior.  Management internal business partners. Articulate requirements and controls expectations of both business and technical resources. Create and sustain links between business requirements and technology production. Hold regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients.
  • Perform managerial administrative duties, including tracking associate attendance, creating and delivering performance and development plans for all team members, delivering performance reviews and determining compensation for all team members. Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to team members as appropriate. Manage, coach and develop management personnel in their teams. Identify, locate and provide needed training and resources
  • Translate senior management vision and assists with developing the department’s vision, strategy, service levels, and business objectives. Communicates vision and strategy to staff
  • Propose, evaluate and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Partner with other operational areas to build strong working relations and improve workflow and organizational issues
  • Forecast and monitors the budget for assigned units
  • Respond to audit requests completely and in a timely manner
  • Financial controls responsibilities include: Responsible for oversight and performance at Workgroup Level, monitoring performance metrics and management of exceptions. Primary accountability for Management Controls including: segregation of duties, policies and procedures, organizational structure, training, supervision and review. Responsible and accountable for overall performance and sign-off of, establishment and maintenance of internal controls and reliability of financial data impacted by processes under their span of control. Establish and maintain Management and Business controls within your span of control.   Management controls include segregation of duties, policies and procedures, organizational structure, training, and supervision and review.  Business Controls include completeness of input & updates, accuracy of input & updates, proper authorization, timeliness, continuity, and segregation of duties through assigned roles/rights. Partner with IT to ensure the establishment and maintenance of system controls including:  program implementation, computer operations, physical & software security; data and program security, privacy compliance. Implement the Financial Control plan through development and sharing of business objectives, making Subject Matter Experts and User Acceptance Testing stakeholders available to the Financial Control team, assigning resources to the continuous controls process, and reporting both problems and symptoms of potential problems. Establish a collaborative relationship with the Financial Control team and other CBF leaders regarding Financial Controls in order to ensure optimal prevention, detection, and/or mitigation.  Execute Financial Control procedures and maintain reliability of financial data essential

  • Planning, Tactical, Strategic - Contribute to the overall strategic business goals and plans of the organization. Create and implement a strategy for supporting current and future business needs. Direct the development, maintenance, and communication of own function's strategic plan
  • Analytical Thinking - Design and orchestrate the use of business analytics for strategic decision making. Employ statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling techniques. Help others discover the diverse features, parameters, or considerations to take into account. Implement operating metrics and performance gauges such as the balanced scorecard
  • Internal Controls - Institute new management strategies to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of controls. Analyze the changing nature of controls and increased need for risk-based control analysis. Help senior management understand the need for changes to specific internal controls. Design changes to organization's internal controls in order to conform to COSO standards
  • Managing Organizational Change - Coach others in techniques for implementing change across multiple units or functions. Champion importance of building commitment and allocating resources to make change happen. Lead the definition of vision and mission. Model design and implementation of transition strategies and communications campaigns
  • Performance Management - Assess and provide feedback on the performance of a team of Structured Settlements New Business Analysts. Provide training to an individual or group on how to perform the duties of a Structured Settlements New Business Analysts. Coach less experienced managers in the processes of performance management. Play a leading role in designing individual and team reward and recognition systems. Champion a climate that supports and rewards excellent group and individual performance.
  • Project Management - Manage and/or consult on multiple high-risk, high-cost projects involving multiple parties and areas. Manage a series of related projects or a program (complex multi-project initiative). Ensure that all projects conform to a long-term business-support strategy and are integrated into a comprehensive plan. Monitor complex or unforeseen dependencies and responds accordingly.
  • Presentations - Prepare and deliver complex presentations to large or critical technical and business audiences. Coach others in all aspects of preparing and giving a formal presentation.
    • Leadership - Create a climate in which rewards match achievements. Inspire and motivate others to share vision and work towards its achievement. Define and consistently communicate organizational objectives, initiatives, and priorities. Delegation - Establish a system to monitor effectiveness of delegating and its results. Enable individuals and managers to take initiative and responsibility and make decisions.

  • B.A. or B.S.
  • 7+ years of people management experience
