The Data Operations and Share Services team is part of MetLife’s Data & Analytics Organization. This role acts as the Product Manager (PM) of Global Party Management (GPM) and is accountable for delivering the data platform and back-end customer data and Master Data Management administration capabilities that enable Operations to implement and service our enterprise-wide customers through supporting all downstream consuming channels and applications, such as US Digital, for customer self-service, as well as Insight, for MetLife call centers to service customers. 

 

Additionally, GPM supports important regulatory areas and processes, such as Electronic Death Match (EDM), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and others (including those specific to US state laws). GPM supports integration and aggregation of customer data from 175 sources, contains ~58M customers, 125M parties and ~2.1B records which support operational and regulatory needs for MetLife. 

 

The Role:

The AVP leading the MDM, Reference Data & Self-Service Enablement organization is responsible for the management and support for all activities relating to the Global Party Management (GPM), including financial planning, budgeting, resource management, strategy and project execution for both operational builds, development of automation, and support of existing environment (including remediation, root cause analysis and development of sustainable solutions).

 

This is a leadership role with accountability to build and manage relationships with product teams, business, marketing, and technology partners to identify areas of opportunity for enriched customer experience.  PMs work closely with Release Train Engineers (RTE), Customers, Business Owners, team members and other stakeholders to create viable and sustainable roadmaps and execution plans, based on Minimum Viable Product (MVP) definitions. This role is ultimately responsible for the delivery across all teams connected with customer data, ensuring completeness and timely execution. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage factory for end-to-end implementation and enhancement of data integration pipelines
    • Manage updates for new data technology implementation
    • Project execution for operational and analytical builds on GPM
  • Continuously improve automation, performance, SLAs and overall efficacy of data supply chain
    • Manage and support cadence of runs of all Data and related processes
    • Monitor Data Process Orchestrators and Automation
    • Manage Daily operations and monitoring of the pipelines and SLA for delivery of data
    • Manage updates and fixes to data and related processes
  • Monitor dimensions of data quality, including coverage, completeness, timeliness, accuracy, integrity and consistency
  • Accelerate cloud strategy in collaboration with data and technology partners
  • CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) ownership for data processes
  • Create a culture of collaboration and engagement where associates can develop their careers through transparent communication, simplified processes, and clear handoffs
  • Resource management, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Controls management for GPM, including audit, risk and application vulnerabilities

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or relevant field with a solid understanding of performance or operational excellence concepts.
  • 12+ years of progressive professional experience; leading complex technical programs across multiple organizations, developing and implementing data-related software/data-pipelines within a Technology, Software Engineering or Data organizations, and managing and automating complex data pipelines within a large enterprise.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with ability to communicate complex technical messages and trade-offs to tell a compelling story.
  • Demonstrated proficiency facilitating organizational change management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deliverables, honor commitments, and “can do” attitude in challenging but exciting environment.
  • Understanding of the Business and MetLife implementation of Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Proficient with technologies such as DB2, Hadoop Hive and HBase and Azure Synapse technologies
