This Senior Project/Programme Manager role sits within a specialised global Tax Operations team here in MetLife. You will be part of a specialised global team of programme managers working exclusively on global projects related to the Tax function. These projects tend to have a regulatory focus such as current high profile projects focusing on FATCA and CRS.


This position has become available as it is being moved to the Dublin office for the first time. You will be the only team member based in Dublin and in order to succeed in this role you will need to be comfortable working in this stand alone, autonomous format (although you will have significant support from your manager who is based in London). Prior experience managing global projects in another Financial Services multinational company is essential as a lot of your stakeholders for projects you will work on will be based outside of Dublin and outside of EMEA.


In this Programme Manager role you will drive the day-to-day oversight and management of assigned global programs.  You will work with leadership to identify the program scope of work, objectives and expected outcomes, and aid in the establishment of the program framework and governance structure.   You will be accountable for the program start-up activities, ongoing program oversight as well as communication with global project teams to ensure the projects and deliverables are completed in alignment with the overall program objectives and strategic outcomes. You will assess the tax/finance program(s) holistically especially issues, risks, schedules, dependencies or other potential collisions that may impact meeting the overall program objectives or key deliverables. 


This is a great role for a talented Project/Programme Manager who enjoys working in a global role. You will be working in a new group within Global Tax Operations and will gain great exposure to areas such as FATCA and CRS. This is an autonomous role in that you will be trusted to get the work done and will be given the flexibility you require form a work life balance perspective. This is a high profile role with direct exposure to senior leadership within MetLife. It is envisaged that there may be opportunities for internal progression within MetLife for someone who comes in and succeeds, either within this specific team or within the broader organisation here in Dublin or globally.




Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee multiple high-priority programs that require considerable resources and high levels of functional and global integration.
  • Navigate programs from initial concept phase through final implementation, post-deployment and debriefing. 
  • Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget.
  • Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
  • Effectively lead and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds globally.
  • Support in the production and delivery of strategic presentations, materials and messages to leadership and other key stakeholders.



Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • 5+ years of program management experience managing large scale, highly visible strategic global programs/projects at a financial services company or comparable experience working as an advisor to a financial services company is essential
  • Successful in managing multiple programs simultaneously directly or indirectly through program teams in support of line, department and enterprise objectives. 
  • Experienced in developing and delivering presentations using MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel as appropriate for an executive level audience.
  • Bachelor's Degree (accounting, finance or a related field preferred).



  • Understands organizational structure and global relationships. 
  • Advanced business analysis and requirements development knowledge and experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and continuing to maintain certification
  • Prior exposure to FATCA or CRS advantageous but is not essential
