Role Value Proposition: 

Develops and issues group policy contracts and amendments in order to achieve all regulatory compliance for international insurance products marketed by MetLife Worldwide Benefits Business. Performs forms filing and negotiates form approval with various state insurance agencies.  Also consult with actuarial, legal, sales, marketing, underwriting, claims and administrative staff to identify product specifications and issue requirements in connection with product development, product updates and changes in laws and regulations.    


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plays a supporting role within the Worldwide Benefits UW & Contracts Department, providing support in implementing new business and renewal contract issuance.
  • Primary responsibility is for issuance of policies to new expatriate clients and amendments and riders to contracts with existing clients.
  • Develops and analyzes moderately complex contracts and related forms and reviews applicable laws and regulations to determine variations in forms, laws, and requirements.
  • Learns aspects of generating group contract documents and maintains adequate file documentation according to procedures.
  • Process, cancel and update all related items as necessary in non-renewal of contracts.
  • Researching and responding to Underwriter questions.
  • Provide training to all new employees.
  • Participate in the analysis of product plan designs and provisions to ensure contract accuracy.
  • Provide technical support in the analysis of new product ventures and contract-related analyses required for due diligence activities.
  • Consults with customers and insurance departments seeking compliance for Worldwide Benefits contracts.
  • Responsible for accuracy and integrity of databases used for compiling filing requirements, creating filing support documentation, and monitoring filing activities.
  • Assist senior management in analyzing proposed and enacted laws and regulations to identify required compliance activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required
  • Assists analysts’ administrative aspects of generating basic contract documents and maintaining filing documentation.
  • Exercises analytical and research skills to analyze and validate regulatory comments during approval process


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Strong Customer Focus
  • Demonstrated experience conducting and effectively summarizing research
  • Must have ability to work cross-functionally with peers and leaders from various lines of business as well as external agencies
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office software skills – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively analyze and synthesize complex information
  • Experience navigating a matrixed business environment
  • Moderate knowledge of contracts



  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Broad knowledge of the regulatory landscape
  • Strong understanding of insurance industry, product lines, and policy provisions
  • Moderate knowledge of policy form filing requirements
  • Exposure to group benefit products and/or public sector/regulatory stakeholders a plus
