The Senior Analyst position plays an integral role in MetLife Investment Management’s Real Estate Debt Strategies Group. The Senior Analyst will assist with various aspects the origination, management and reporting of MetLife’s $67 billion commercial mortgage portfolio.  The Senior Analyst will focus on working directly with portfolio managers on the management and oversight of separate account real estate debt portfolios.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provide regular origination and portfolio updates to portfolio mangers
  • Contribute to the timely analysis of new loan transactions presented to Investment Committee
  • Create, update, and manage excel models and databases
  • Maintain detailed tracking of real estate debt portfolios and the origination pipeline
  • Assist in allocating separate account clients into new origination opportunities, sending out deal packages and funding notifications/capital calls
  • Attend portfolio surveillance meetings; Assist portfolio managers to provide notice to clients of any material portfolio updates and upcoming payoffs
  • Review all reporting deliverables to third party clients
  • Attend regular meetings with separate account clients. Produce materials and be prepared to participate
  • Ad hoc requests and projects related to Investment Management portfolios
  • Assist in the maintenance and the launching of new, client-facing technological advances within MetLife Investment Management


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 1-3 years of experience in an analytical role focused on analyzing, reporting and presenting data to senior management and external parties
  • Excellent PC skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience, Power BI experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communicating skills; able to communicate effectively to portfolio managers, senior management and external separate account clients
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage several projects concurrently
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and work well in a small team environment



  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business, English, Political Science or Philosophy, as well as any other related field of expertise
  • General knowledge of commercial real estate fundamentals
  • Prior finance or real estate related work experience at major/boutique investment group
  • Comfortable in managing and working with large data sets
