MIM offers investors a commercial mortgage strategy that seeks to identify a relatively broad spectrum of commercial mortgages that offer higher relative value and greater protection from default risk. MetLife’s commercial mortgage business focuses on institutional quality office buildings, retail centers, apartment complexes, industrial properties and hotels that are located in targeted primary, secondary and select tertiary markets.  Professionals in MIM’s seven domestic regional offices (Northeast, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Washington DC, and Whippany, NJ) and four international offices (London, Mexico City, Tokyo and Santiago) source, evaluate, underwrite and process the loans and have in-depth real estate knowledge and longstanding industry relationships.


The Senior Analyst position plays an integral role in the MetLife Commercial Mortgage Income Fund (“MCMIF” or “the Fund”) team. The Senior Analyst will assist with various aspects of supporting the Fund management’s needs of MCMIF’s $3.7 billion investment portfolio.  The Senior Analyst will provide support to MCMIF’s portfolio management team in an effort to achieve the Fund’s objectives.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Prepare, coordinate and review the Fund’s standard monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting requirements
  • Responsible for updating all MCMIF portfolio management spreadsheets which require weekly/monthly manual updates
  • Participate in the reconciliation process of quarterly administrator, valuation and other spreadsheet files
  • Enhance the Fund’s reporting and models as needed to support the analytics and monitoring of the investment portfolio
  • Maintain detailed tracking of the Fund’s pipeline and fund/loan-level metrics
  • Prepare and update quarterly and ad hoc PowerPoint presentations, including the Fund’s quarterly investor call
  • Update quarterly investor/consultant templates for timely delivery to MIM’s Client Services Group (“CSG”)
  • Support repurchase facility and subscription line responsibilities as needed, such as sending capital call notices & covenants to lender on a quarterly basis as well obtaining future funds as necessary
  • Provide general analytical support to the Fund’s portfolio management team as needed, as well as ad hoc requests and projects related to the Fund’s portfolio
  • Process all payments to third party vendors and new loan originations in a timely manner
  • Collaborate across the platform with regional offices, internal and external service providers to execute critical deliverables for the Fund


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 2-4 years of commercial real estate experience in an analytical role focused on creating, preparing and analyzing data for a Fund management team
  • Excellent PC skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exhibit strong and effective verbal and written communication skills which transcends multiple audiences including senior management, portfolio management team, regional offices, cross-unit colleagues as well as third parties
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage several projects concurrently
  • Team oriented mindset with strong work ethic and efficient time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize and proactively address Fund management’s needs



  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business, English, Political Science or Philosophy, as well as any other related field of expertise
  • Results-driven professional with experience in commercial real estate loans and support for real estate debt funds
  • Self-driven employee with ability to proactively address issues and possesses an understanding of when to elevate issues to management for guidance
  • Exhibits desire to advance career via a Fund management or regional office track
