MetLife is looking to hire a Mortgage Credit Analyst, who will be responsible for assisting in residential mortgage loan modelling, analytics, reporting, and management.  This group manages over $15B in residential mortgage credit within its loan portfolio. 

 

 Key Responsibilities:  

  • Assist in tracking and reporting the performance of the residential whole loan portfolio.
  • Become an expert on our internal credit and cash flow models.  Identify and drive improvements to modeling processes.  Create and program new models as needed
  • Provide analytical support to residential mortgage loan trading and management team.
  • Run and analyze potential new investments for the portfolio.  Identify and suggest new ways to analyze investment opportunities.
  • Query internal database and utilize 3rd party analytical tools to evaluate portfolio performance
  • Manage loans from purchase to liquidation or sale.  Communicate with mortgage servicers to deal with loss mitigation and loan modifications.  Analyze monthly reporting from mortgage servicers.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage information flows effectively.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to simultaneously handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and applications in a timely manner.

Preferred:

  • BA/BS required. Preferred in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or any other related field of expertise.
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Experience using SQL or other database software.
  • Experience with programming languages such as VBA or Python.
