Internal Audit (IA) is an independent global organization that plays an important role in partnering with the business to ensure that management anticipates, recognizes, and appropriately manages risks. We protect MetLife and our stakeholders through meaningful independent assurance and advice, while advocating for risk management and internal controls.  Our team is responsible for covering MetLife Investment Management (MIM), which includes front office trading, middle office operations and investments compliance for affiliated and 3rd party clients.


We’re looking for an experienced Auditor that’s excited to be part of a dynamic and highly collaborative team. Someone that is comfortable sharing their ideas and is passionate about building client relationships and delivering high quality impactful results to stakeholders.


The experienced Auditor has responsibility for the participation in and delivery of audit assignments as follows:


Key Responsibilities:  


  • Assists in audit work to assess the soundness, adequacy, compliance with MetLife Policy and use of best practices for MetLife Investments group operational processes and controls
  • Assists in the support of Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) deliverables
  • Applying the department’s goals and key initiatives, which include an innovation driven mentality, focus on Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and use of data analytics

Project Management

  • Participates in projects, completing assigned tasks and responsibilities within budget and agreed timelines (and explaining variances)
  • Communicate timely and appropriately with identified stakeholders within IA and business management

Relationship Management

  • Consults with clients in developing action plans to resolve control issues or risks
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow auditors and auditees, sustaining ongoing relationships with key business contacts


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 1-3 years of experience in an accounting/auditing role
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Audit Standards, IIA standards, risks and controls, audit sampling and testing methodologies, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and the financial services industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, deductive, and problem-solving skills



  • Professional certification (e.g. CIA, CPA)
  • Basic knowledge of investment products (e.g., fixed income securities, derivatives, mortgage loans)
