The Institutional Client Group (ICG) is responsible for driving the firm’s strategy, business development and ongoing client management with institutional investors globally.  The Insurance Relationship Manager (IRM) will work in close partnership with the Insurance ICG team members, investment professionals and other key stakeholders to ensure we are delivering the highest service level to our insurance clients. The IRM will partner with Insurance ICG salesperson to support all facets of client relationship management and cross-sales.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Primary client contact for insurance clients for ongoing investment related activities, including ad hoc questions and access to broader platform.
  • Coordination of, and active participant in client meetings, including portfolio reviews, Investment Committee meetings, and Strategic Client Annual Reviews (scheduling, attending, notes, follow ups).
  • Support of senior salesperson in cross-sale opportunities (new products/upsizes).
  • Complete fund subs/redemption docs and coordinate with CSG to get processed internally.
  • Act as primary ICG liaison in onboarding process; organize annual client training.
  • Coordinate with investment teams, client service and other stakeholders to ensure the client’s needs are being met, requests are being addressed on a timely basis, and the team is thinking and acting proactively.
  • Maintain client information including Salesforce data, relationship plans, client briefing notes (as needed).
  • Work with PMs to coordinate legal documentation amendments for SMAs, i.e. upsizes, guideline changes, IMA updates.
  • Coordinate with CSG and act as an escalation point for operational issues i.e., front end/portal, billing, ad hoc questions, compliance issues, etc.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 5+ years of related experience in asset management and with institutional clients.
  • Series 7 & 63 licenses required within six months of service at MIM.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly motivated team player with a collaborative mindset and strong interest in building a business in a complex and performance-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of MIM products and services, as well as the role of consultants and institutional investors.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Insurance asset management experience.
  • Fixed income, private asset, real estate knowledge base.
