Role Value Proposition: 

The Global ALM Governance Strategist role sits within MetLife’s Global Risk Management group, on the Market Risk team. The global ALM governance framework is a cross-functional governance structure responsible for asset-liability management across the Enterprise. The Market Risk team is responsible for chairing the majority of the ALM Committees (“ALMC”) and Working Groups (“ALM WG”) and is highly focused on ensuring MetLife’s ALM function is best-in class.


The position is responsible for the execution of the global ALM governance process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage completion of charter mandated objectives and responsibilities across all ALMCs and WGs.
  • Support the ALMC and ALMWG chairs in all aspects of meeting management ranging from administrative to strategic.
  • Champion ongoing enhancements to ALM governance and strategy.
  • Manage the annual global review and update of ALM/Investment Guidelines.
  • Analyze investment strategies in the context of enterprise objectives.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or actuarial science.
  • 5+ yrs. relevant experience in the actuarial field.
  • Actuarial designation or equivalent.
  • Exceptionally organized.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills – effectively executes deliverables which are contingent on the contribution of others.
  • Proactive, intellectually curious, operates with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



  • Working experience in derivatives, market risk and/or ALM.
  • Global exposure and experience working across different countries.
