The Risk & Analytics group is part of the Derivatives Middle Office and owns risk analytics, scenario analysis and product management for derivatives and securities. This position, Director of Risk & Analytics, manages a team of three others that has ownership of the primary analytics systems and drives new product development in this space. This position will work across different groups (trade processing, valuations, collateral management) within Derivatives Middle Office and partner with Front Office, Risk, Investments Finance, Treasury, PMU and Technology on the rollout of strategic priorities including regulatory, industry-driven and enterprise requirements. Recent and ongoing initiatives include Regulatory Initial Margin and Libor cessation. This role reports to VP, Derivatives Operations.

Key Responsibilities 


  • Partner with the head of Derivatives Operations as well as Directors of Valuations, Collateral Management, Trade Processing & MIM new business operations to streamline and enhance derivatives platforms to support strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Drive priorities and act as business lead on key projects involving risk analytics, new products, scenario requirements. Collaborate with Front Office, Investments Finance, Technology, external vendors and other groups as necessary
  • Fulfill regular reporting requirements for derivatives & asset scenario analytics per enterprise internal as well as external requirements. Interact with other group leads and senior management
  • Define and implement specific derivatives processes, procedures and controls and perform data governance reviews.
  • Full people management responsibilities for team.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills 



  • 10+ years of experience with derivatives operations and/or projects. Ability to integrate enterprise-wide derivative and finance knowledge into broader based strategies. Good understanding of industry issues and trends.
  • Strong derivative product knowledge including pricing and risk.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and ability to monitor progress against objectives.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills




  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Finance, and/or Mathematics, MBA or MS strongly preferred
  • High level of proficiency in Numerix & Blackrock Aladdin
  • Strong technical skills, familiarity with programming.
