The primary focus of this role is to support the Senior Business Procedures Consultant with coordination of all aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley, SSAE 18, and Custody audits for MetLife Investment Management (“MIM”). The ideal candidate will also contribute to the implementation of non-financial operational risk, vendor management and other enterprise risk programs.  As needed, the role also provides support for special projects.  The successful candidate will leverage corporate systems to ensure compliance with enterprise policies.

   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify new process, systems and changes in personnel which may impact SOX controls or SSAE 18 controls.
  • Manage the annual SSAE 18 project from walkthroughs, testing, exceptions management and reporting
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors to identify risks, establish controls and develop remediation for deficiencies
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance and business to ensure the timely completion of the annual custody audit
  • Assist with account opening process for Standard Initial Margin Model (SIMM)

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Must have strong analytical, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Must be able to manage projects with tight deadlines and to identify and remediate issues
  • Ability to assess financial statement impact and operating risk at every stage in the investment life cycle
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

 

Preferred:

  • Should have good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of investment life cycle, processes, and systems preferred
  • Investment management, investments audit, internal controls, Sarbanes Oxley, and SSAE18 audit or related experience preferred
