The Audit Director position reports to the Vice President of Global Investment and provides leadership and management for the Internal Audit team. The successful candidate will collaborate with 1st and 2nd line of business, including Investments, Global Risk Management, and Compliance leadership groups, to ensure assurance coverage for global investment, including the regulated entities such as registered investment advisors and broker/dealer.  The Audit Director supports the Vice President in leading the Internal Audit Department and is responsible for all Talent Management including managing employees and consultants, reporting activities related to the Department and preparation of Internal Audit Committee materials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight guidance to the internal audit team to ensure effective talent development and quality audit work across team.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the team to include resource scheduling and utilization.
  • Develop global roadmap for audit coverage utilizing a risk approach based upon the departments audit methodology
  • Assume accountability and responsibility for audit quality and timely delivery of audit reviews. 
  • Support annual talent review of team.
  • Participate in appropriate external professional organizations and keep informed on new developments in the field of auditing
  • Collaborate with regional Internal Audit leads and further develop Corporate relationship
  • Collaborate with external auditors, assess efficiency opportunities and deliver savings when applicable.
  • Provide oversight on the development and timely delivery of Audit Committee materials when applicable
  • Enable IA’s vision for the auditor of the future, by providing leadership and oversight into the audit team’s enhancement of business acumen, critical thinking, and data analytics skills, and supporting the broader IA department’s objectives of enhancing their knowledge of risks and controls.
  • Support General Auditor’s / Senior IA management’s requests for special projects


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 10+ years of progressively responsible audit experience including roles in audit control, public accounting, risk management and/or advisory experience
  • Strong Investment Industry knowledge (e.g. Investment Advisor, Broker/Dealers)
  • Strong knowledge in Compliance control framework over the regulated entities
  • Advanced knowledge of generally accepted audit standards, IIA Standards and auditing sampling and testing methodologies, SEC requirements and Sarbanes Oxley
  • Comprehensive knowledge of audit practices, procedures and principles with the ability to interpret and analyze complex concepts and apply these in innovative ways
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to work with senior management and other stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • CPA, CIA or equivalent professional qualification
