The Institutional Client Group is responsible for driving the firm’s strategy and business development efforts with institutional investors, globally.  As an Analyst, the candidate will work in close partnership with ICG team members, investment professionals and other key stakeholders in a range of responsibilities related to growing the client business.  This includes maintaining and enhancing a CRM system, sourcing prospective investors, researching competitor products, summarizing large datasets, assisting with various business strategy initiatives, coordinating client/prospect meeting logistics, and working with internal functional groups to facilitate responses to client/prospect inquires.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Summarize large data sets to extract and present meaningful observations, insights, and trends.
  • Maintain client/prospect database including upkeep of prospect company and contact info, entry of meeting notes, tracking of opportunities, etc. by leveraging Salesforce functionality.
  • Assist with the coordination of meetings, calls and other sales activities including logistics, presentation materials, and follow ups.
  • Liaise with investment, finance and research teams to collect information needed for investor requests.
  • Prepare briefing notes to educate relationship managers and investment professionals in advance of prospective and current client meetings.
  • Utilize industry databases and websites to extract meaningful financial data.
  • Actively maintain intel on the institutional market including recent news, major developments, and potential regulatory changes.
  • Research and share knowledge of competitive products and industry trends and their potential impact on MIM’s strategies.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Candidates must be recent graduates or enrolled in/actively pursuing a graduate degree in finance, economics, marketing or a related area.
  • Thorough analytical skills with the ability to creatively present data in new ways.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly motivated team player with a collaborative mindset and strong interest in building a business in a complex and performance-oriented environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Investment management industry experience with public fixed income, real estate and/or private capital product knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
