The Global Technology and Operations (GTO) Business Controls organization is keenly focused on vendor management and risk controls on third parties. As part of the Business Controls department, the Vendor Management Office’s (VMO) focus is to implement and support global risk and control activities for the avoidance of financial, regulatory and reputational impacts. This role supports the VMO’s efforts through the design and implementation of standard practices for the prevention and management of cyber risks and threats.  

 

The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring the standard practices are in place with all the appropriate connections to key stakeholders and controls to drive prevention and timely and effective management of cyber incidents having an impact on GTO’s third party vendors. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Centralized point of contact for MetLife reported incidents impacting GTO 3rd party vendors and reported incidents from the 3rd party vendor
  • Manage engagement of appropriate parties to drive timely resolution and appropriate handling of incidents based on severity level
  • Responsible for defining standard, best practices for prevention and management of cyber risks and threats impacting GTO vendors
  • Develop strong understanding of automated monitoring solutions and processes in place for all MetLife’s vendors
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with various IT, Risk & Security departments and vendors to ensure that implemented processes align and drive effective and timely response to incidents
  • Create and maintain process documentation including the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),  schedules, communication plan, action log, lessons learned, and other required documentation
  • Represent business sponsor in all aspects of cyber risk and threat detected at GTO 3rd party vendors to ensure sense of urgency, business impacts, remediation, solution delivery and restoration of operations
  • Conduct analysis on lessons learned, trends to drive continuous improvements to process and/or technical components to mitigate volume and/or impact of incidents
  • Actively participate in collaborative sessions to provide updates and drive awareness of CyberRisk & Threats activities with 3rd party vendors and GTO leadership
  • Identify, monitor, escalate cyber risk issues and threats in timely manner
  • Prepare and present standard reporting and updates to all levels within the organization
  • Ensure adherence to compliance controls and quality standards
  • Provide technical and operational support to business and vendor users
  • Manage reported incidents and identified risks to remediation
  • Document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to drive operational readiness and scalable, effective implementation of best practices for preventing and managing cyber incidents
  • Continuous research of changing risk and threat environment, technology, solutions and industry standards to drive improved processes and capabilities

 

 

 

 

Required Experience:

  • BS/BA degree with 7-10 years of work experience
  • Proven ability to communicate complex ideas in a manner that is easily understandable
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to deliver solutions that meet business needs
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and apply critical and strategic thinking
  • Understands components, cycle times and production/distribution requirements and can manage to project timelines and priorities
  • Strong and proven analytical skills
