Senior Reports Analyst

Functional Responsibilities

 

  • Working under minimal supervision, provides detailed budget and data analysis, including trending, and provides recommendations to partners and management
  • Responsible for budget planning and monthly metrics/budget reports and drives creation and utilization of consistent budget practices across the business
  • Provides complex analysis, forecasting and trending and provides observations and recommendations for review by senior management
  • Consults with business partners to determine reporting, analysis, and timing needs for current and future planning and insights
  • Develops and implements reporting processes, deliverables and timeline for each assigned case
  • Runs complex ad hoc reports on schedule and provides data analysis prior to delivery to business management
  • Participate on and/or leads project teams in a Matrix environment responsible for overseeing improvements to data collection, output, reporting, analysis, and/or presentation
  • Researches requests and downloads data in order to prepare complex exhibits, summaries, presentations, and/or reports for use by business management
  • Manipulates data using spreadsheet, database applications and systems taking into account technical knowledge of operations, reporting formats, and objectives of data analysis
  • Investigates and corrects discrepancies
  • Maintains reports and databases, ensures integrity of data, and remains current on applicable business functions and technology tools
  • Develop and coordinate business review packages and meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

  • Leads and motivates department wide and cross LOB teams
  • Provides guidance and cross-training to other staff

 

Typical Experience and Key Competencies

 

  • Strong financial acumen and experience with metrics including budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong understanding and experience working with MetLife Auto & Home business and systems
  • Broad knowledge of the supported business functions systems, and transactions
  • Broad knowledge of technology system processes, reporting functions, and methodologies
  • 8-10 years of related work experience
  • Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred; or equivalent experience
