Role Value Proposition: 

Analyze, rationalize, write, design and produce a wide range of customer service communications for all products across multiple business lines. Develops and designs communications using MetLife standards and content blocks. Consult with the business to select appropriate media, communication methods and key messages to reach the target audience.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Research, write, and produce a wide range of simple to complex internal and external customer communications; Create and edit all types of documents including emails, texts, letters, notices, flyers, postcards and reference guides for our customers
  • Partner with LOBs to ensure that communications meet business needs while adhering to our corporate layout, standards and approved content
  • Formulate messages in a concise, meaningful and effective method using the most appropriate format
  • Prepare mockups and design statements as needed to integrate content with layout
  • Develop creative and informational approaches for communication materials
  • Provide guidance and advice to clients on the most effective methods and media
  • Conduct customer testing to ensure feedback meets intended targets
  • Execute independent communication projects including scheduling, editing, securing approvals, production and distribution
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned
  • Participate in projects that span across multiple areas, functions, and lines of business


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related discipline
  • 5 + years of relevant business experience
  • Advanced writing and editing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, multi-task oriented and sound business judgement
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, set schedules and priorities to meet both internal and external deadlines
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Computer Skills required include an excellent working knowledge and use of the full suite of Microsoft Office Products- Word, Excel, Powerpoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated technical excellence in writing and editing skills, communication skills, consulting skills, and computer skills
  • Must have sound business judgement
  • Strong team collaboration and relationship management skills
  • Creative, positive, engaging, upbeat and can-do attitude

  • Provides guidance and advice to clients on formulating key messages and the most effective methods and media
  • Collaborates with internal departments to ensure an integrated communications approach
  • Broad knowledge of supported business functions, processes/procedures, workflow, systems, and  transactions
