National Accounts Sales Support:
The National Accounts Sales Support team works directly with National Accounts Account Executives (AEs) who are responsible for selling and retaining group insurance products and services for the 5,000+ employee life market segment.  Primarily focused on pre & post-sale activities such as requests for proposals (RFPs), broker interactions, marketing presentations and sales tracking, the Sales Support team aids the AEs in most strategically leveraging their skills and time.  With the AE, and by prioritizing and developing business solutions to meet the needs of this market space, National Accounts will meet and exceed its growth targets and customer goals.

 

Role Value Proposition: 

This role provides an advanced knowledge of assigned AE block of business, prospects, broker relationships and processing procedures.  Collaborating with the Account Executive, the Sales Support Consultant II contributes to successful RFP strategies; coordinates and delivers customer events; meeting design & facilitation; marketing recommendations, broker assignments & inquiries, concepts and finalist presentation outcomes.  They manage the systematic design, development and execution of participation engagement for MetLife products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all pre-sale activities including RFP and underwriting submissions, creating detailed proposals, obtaining qualified reference documentation and creating finalist presentations
  • Deliver post-sale activities including notice of sale, broker contract and commission issues, renewals and compensation reporting
  • Manage AE Account Plans, Opportunities and Activities in Salesforce, ensuring data integrity for Customer Unit and Senior Leadership reporting
  • Meeting preparation for AE such as developing agendas, printing and combining presentations, pulling appropriate collateral materials
  • Research and coordinate with Senior Sales Support Consultant for the Sales Executives (SE) on prospecting companies and pulling data on customers/brokers and prepare AE/SE for introductions
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of assigned AEs’ books of business to represent the AE with brokers and internal partners
  • Work with internal business partners to implement sales growth and awareness strategies on employee marketing communication plans
  • Partner with service teams to aid in customer presentations (annual and on-going), renewals and implement marketing and growth strategies (1st and 2nd sale)
  • May act as a mentor to other Sales Support members
  • Participate in Sales Support Knowledge Management by seeking opportunities to improve process and find new ways by contributing to specific topic development recommendations and timely updates
  • Authentically build trusted relationships and collaborate across diverse and multi-functional teams
  • Proactively seek opportunities to lead special projects using project management tools and skills
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 6+ years of relevant business experience
  • Advanced understanding of group insurance products, sales processes and ability to apply these to external and internal customers
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, multi-task and high efficiency in organizational strategies
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 360 applications and aptitude to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to make recommendations
  • Experienced presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working autonomously and manage time efficiently in order to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated to learn more about group benefits, sales practices and proactive in personal development

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in insurance products, brokerages or financial acumen
  • Salesforce Platform awareness
