Job Description: 

Advisory and Oversight team is the key function of this group and will establish, maintain and continually improve the MLJ Compliance team’s oversight of sales practice risk, including its people, systems and processes in order to provide best-in-class support to MLJ and its customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Promoting initiatives to improve control of sales practice risks.
  • Supporting, monitoring and testing of sales practices in the 1st line of business including SQA (Sales Quality Assurance HQ) to construct compliance system in distribution channels.
  • Risk and Control analysis to prevent inappropriate sales practices or misconducts in advance utilizing various data.
  • Agenda setting, facilitating, minutes-taking and execution of the outcomes of the following meetings: Preventive Action Meeting, Financial Fraud Task Force and SQA bi-weekly.
  • Actions against Compliance related Inquiries from company-wide risk owners
  • Fundamental re-construction to optimize Sales Compliance Training 

 

Experience:

Mandated:

  • Working experience in the insurance sales field for at least two years
  • University degrees or higher education in any subjects related to economics, finance, law or education.

     

Preferred:

  • 5+ years legal/Compliance experience at a financial services company
  • 5+ years insurance sales and product experience
  • Proven ability to manage multi-distribution team/project effectively

 

Skills:

Mandated:

  • Business writing skills, presentation skills (Generally in Japanese, better in English, as well)
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint

     

Preferred:

  • Outstanding Communication abilities: effective, accurate and timely communicating with stakeholders in all levels of management hierarchy
  • Organized and systematic approach to work, with good time management skills

 

Language:

  • Japanese: Native
  • English: Business level reading and writing

  • Ability to think independently with own initiatives
  • Open-minded attitude for co-workers as a team
