This position is the chief of staff to the Vice President of Disability Claims Service and Proposal Operations. The Disability Claims Service & Proposal Operations mission is to deliver market leading proposals and exceptional service to our customers. They are integral to the productivity and success of the Service & Proposal operations. Our vision is to provide products and services to our customers and their employees that enable them to live life confidently. This role will ensure our mission and vision are realized, through strategic planning and execution, and partnership with the Service and Proposal Operations leadership team.  


Key Responsibilities:  


  • Oversee, develop, and maintain business strategic plans, including creating business plan communication.
  • Track and ensure progress on all business initiatives.
  • Develop agenda for and lead team meetings, including huddles, monthly leadership meetings, quarterly management meetings, quarterly town halls.
  • Maintain Disability Claims Book of Business case listing (Master Customer List).
  • Manage Account Management Survey process, including reporting and analysis of results.
  • Manage Disability Claims Service & Proposal Operations $60M expense budget.
  • Key metric reporting and analysis, including monthly metrics dashboard.
  • Draft and release VP communications.
  • Manage personnel-related items, including turnover tracking and facilitation of year-end performance ratings distributions.
  • Participates in the management of Client Specific IT portfolio.
  • Represents Vice President in certain meetings, can be considered a proxy for decisions
  • Provides support to direct reports of Vice President, the Service Leaders and Operation Leader


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • Excellent working knowledge of group business market and products.
  • Excellent working knowledge of account management roles and responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience with organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi- task and prioritize
  • Forecasting and budgeting skills
  • Sound business judgment and ability to lead.
  • Expert Excel skills; macros, vlookups and other formulas, pivot tables, troubleshooting.
  • Strong Powerpoint skills.
  • 5-7 years of relevant business experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
