The Financial Consultant position will perform a variety of accounting, supervisory and project level functions related to MetLife’s Private Equity (PE) Portfolio. These functions include preparation and/or review of all GAAP and STAT accounting and reporting for the PE portfolio, as well as project work related to system & process enhancements. 


The department is a fast-paced work environment with numerous non-routine processes where associates must be quick learners, very organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting job responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:

PE Fund of Funds

  • Prepare quarterly unaudited, annual audited financials for the Fund of Fund (FOF) portfolio and all related footnotes
  • Monitor FOF cash flow in conjunction with preparation of calls/distributions to Limited Partners (LP)
  • Manage all accounting functions related to GP accounting, including reconciliations and MIM quarterly reporting
  • Review FOF Hedge Fund monthly NAV statements for LPs
  • New fund setup
  • Expense descriptions through Variable Interest Entities process
  • Management fee calculation



  • Quarterly FAS 157 FN
  • Quarterly Unfunded FN
  • Practical Expedient FN
  • PE Monthly reconciliation review and management (updates/changes/error resolution)
  • Ad Hoc analysis and reporting as requested


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5-year accounting or finance experience
  • Experience with equity method accounting preferred
  • Experience with working cohesively in a team
  • Effective decision-making skills, sound judgment, and ability to work independently
  • Experience with Investran, PeopleSoft, HFM, Cubus and Cognos preferred
  • Proficiency with advanced features of Excel
  • Strong Communication Skills
