The Financial Consultant in Investment Reporting & Analytics team handles all aspects of Investment reporting & Analytics. Performs a variety of financial studies to analyze and report interrelationships of financial information. Makes oral presentations explaining the key drivers underlying changes in our investment results. Financial analyses prepared range from actual to actual, actual to projection, income, gain (loss) and unrealized gains (losses); including detailed attribution of changes in our investment results. Candidate will work within a fast-paced team environment, interacting with multiple departments across the Enterprise. Critical to the unit’s operations, the incumbent will need to be analytical, detailed oriented, and have strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare written actual to actual and actual to projection analytics for the investment portfolio ranging from consolidated, segment and legal entity. Actual to actual investment analytics include those in SEC and Statutory MD&A filings.
- Prepare attribution of change in our investment results and prepare yield calculations.
- Make oral presentations explaining the key drivers underlying the changes in our investment results.
- Partner with front office, accounting, operations, GAAP reporting and Statutory reporting teams.
- Active participate in projects to improve efficiencies, including report creation and modification.
- Assists in the development of process flows and proper financial controls.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Experience with SEC, US GAAP and/or US Statutory accounting principles and familiarity with financial statements, including balance sheet and income statements.
- Strong organizational & presentation skills
- Above average level of experience with Excel
- proper work authorization to work in the country where the position is located and not require relocation assistance.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- Insurance or investment industry experience
- Domestic and international investment analytics which require a general knowledge of global financial markets.
- Familiarity with Alteryx, HFM, BI Publisher, Wdesk and PeopleSoft Ledger
