Role Value Proposition: 

Under minimal supervision, this position will be tasked with supporting and running regulatory projects and assisting with the performance of audits and exam requests.  Identifies and mitigates risk items.  Monitors and tracks legislative changes that impact business operations.  Participates in compliance testing at a moderate to complex level.  Assignment of business projects with varying degrees of complexity and scale.


Skills Required for Role:

Comprehensive knowledge of compliance principles, SOX Controls, Business Risks and Controls as well as related company policies and government regulations.  Prior experience in leading projects.  Strong analytical and computer skills.  Ability to make effective business decisions and work with compliance, legal, and business partners to obtain guidance.  Provides and maintains effective communications with key business partners and stakeholders.  Vast knowledge of Annuity products and Operations.



Key Responsibilities:

Acts as liaison between Internal Audit, Regulatory Affairs, Global Operations Risk, Compliance and Operations to develop, implement, and follow up on corrective and proactive controls action plans.  Ensures that administrative processes are consistent with company policy and insurance and securities rules and regulations. 


Performs governance and monitoring functions to mitigate risk.  Assists with review of internal and external audits, Compliance testing and NFRA.  Addresses concerns with compliance and the business to assist in developing action plans for corrective measures and implementation.  Assists other team members to perform audits of processes to ensure compliance with stated procedures.  Assists in identifying issues and developing action plans and responds to related inquiries. Assists with the performance of audits verifying action plans are implemented properly and timely. Consults the business related to proposed and implemented legislative changes.  Support of new and ongoing projects as assigned.


Escalates issues to management. Seeks guidance and counsel from Corporate Compliance, Legal or Global Risk regarding controls related inquiries, concerns, and/or regulations. Performs other duties as required or assigned.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required: 2-3 years of related work experience in Annuity Operations. 

Series 6 licensure (or ability to obtain within 3 months).



Preferred:  Ideal candidate should have; Strong comfort level in leading meetings, strong data review & analysis ability.  Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel experience.  Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.  Expanded knowledge of MetLife annuity systems is strongly desired.  Life Insurance knowledge is a plus.
